Senior Buyer - Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk - Position: Senior Buyer (German Speaking)
Location: Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk
Salary: c. GBP31,500

ROLE:
Working as part of the Supply Chain Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing process by planning and purchasing material requirements. It is essential that you are fluent in German to be considered for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Identify and purchase MRP requirements
b) Understand and manage MPS / MRP item parameters (lead time, batch size etc)
c) Ability to expedite delivery of components to schedule
d) Identify and Organise issue and control of free issue materials and tooling
e) Managing supplier delivery systems to direct to shop floor.
f) Scheduling of suppliers to maximise response and minimise inventory.
g) Contribute to the elimination of cost throughout the supply chain.
h) Develop effective working relationships with Design, Production, Engineering personnel and Suppliers.
i) Resolve technical queries with suppliers.
j) Ensure suppliers understand quality requirements.
k) Understand and manage Kanban supply systems.
l) Resolve invoicing queries and controls purchases within budget.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Min 5 years experience in purchasing / expediting role.
b) Experience of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRPII) and Kanban processes.
c) Competent user of Microsoft office.
d) Ability to work as part of a team.
c) Fluency in German.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Previous experience in a technology driven or engineering manufacturing environment.
b) Experience of lean manufacturing processes.
c) IFS experience.
d) Experience of purchasing castings, plastic mouldings and raw materials.
