Claims Manager - Ipswich, Suffolk - A market leading Insurance firm in Ipswich is seeking a strong Claims Manager to oversee a large team of motor claims handlers.

You would be responsible for the operational management and motivation of the claims unit, including resource planning, workflow control, productivity and efficiency.


Key duties will include:

Shape the processes, procedures and practices associated with delivering a consistent, developed, highly motivated team of professionals

• To manage the customer service mix and implement medium and long-term strategies designed for the achievement of excellent customer service to ensure that service level targets are achieved
• Creation of a “customer driven” culture of continual improvement to provide a challenging and rewarding environment in which people develop, take ownership and become empowered to contribute to meeting and exceeding KPI and business goals
• Undertake team reporting and statistical analysis to identify (and ultimately take action on) trends
• Liaise with other departments aswell as meeting with external clients for a variety of purposes including improvement of processes and procedures
• Manage escalated client issues that are likely to be complex and sensitive

• Proven supervisory experience within the Insurance sector preferably Motor Insurance
• Good knowledge of the motor insurance industry and its typical contractual procedures including types of cover
• Displays excellent communications skills, strong leadership and a flexible approach and the ability to adapt to a changing environment
• Able to plan ahead and be aware of changing and conflicting priorities
