We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer or Mechanical Design Manager to head up and lead a team of Mechanical Designers. You must be interested in developing and mentoring the design team and demonstrate leadership in driving and assisting in a variety of special projects.

You should also have proven skills in mechanical and hydraulic equipment design, as the role will require you to provide the technical leadership for all design, stress and research and development activities within the theatre and special effects industry.

To succeed as Mechanical Design Manager you must ideally have a degree in mechanical engineering along with competent knowledge of solid works or Catia. Ideally you will also be chartered or working towards chartered status, although this is not essential.

You will be joining a specialist in the design, manufacture and installation of stage engineering and stage rigging equipment for the entertainment industry which ranges from the theatrical industry to concert halls and television.

Their in house design and manufacturing facilities provide a range of custom built special purpose equipment including power flying systems, individual or special purpose hoists, stage floors, lifting platforms, revolving stages, wagons and special effects.
