Lead Process Engineer - Haverhill, Suffolk - Lead Process Engineer

This leading Pharmaceutical Organisation are now looking for a Lead Process Engineer to provide process engineering support for site strategic capital projects and manufacturing operations as part of an integrated team.

Lead Process Engineer – Role/Responsibilities
+ Prepare, review and approve calculations to size process equipment, to include but not be limited to vessels, pumps, pipework, relief devices and process systems such as purified water generation and distribution plants
+ Review and approve detailed specifications and datasheets for process equipment
+ Assist in the selection of process equipment, including surface finishes and materials of construction
+ Design and implement expansions of existing facilities
+ Provide guidance to A&E firms for process specific items and plant design
+ Assist in the development of site engineering specifications and procedures in line with the needs of the organisation
+ Review and approve PFDs and detailed P&IDs,
+ provide process expertise for safety reviews such as HAZOP, SIL and quality reviews for GMP, personnel and material flows etc.
+ lead Commissioning and Qualification activities up to the end of OC for capital projects
+ provide process engineering input to FAT and SAT activities and also assistance to prepare protocols
+ review and approve commissioning and qualification documents such as IC, OC, IQ and OQ
+ provide process engineering knowledge to trouble shoot and optimizing current manufacturing processes
+ actively supports Manufacturing, Maintenance, Technical, Quality and Capital Projects departments for both capital projects and manufacturing operations
+ represent the client to ensure the A&E firm complies with project scope, standards and specifications
+ will have reporting relationships through project leaders/managers and Operations Area Leads

Lead Process Engineer – Skills/Experience
+ high level of knowledge and experience of the API pharmaceutical industry
+ experience in containment systems, materials handling, ATEX and DSEAR
+ high level of experience of pharma project design and build is desirable
+ understanding of manufacturing operations and improvement techniques
+ previous experience in HPLC and freeze drying would be advantageous
+ a good working knowledge of control systems, particularly PCS (PLC/SCADA) would be advantageous.

The role may require a reasonable level of travel and working away from home, predominantly to attend design meetings and reviews and factory acceptance testing.
