Suffolk Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses this morning, as investigations continue into an unexplained death on the A12 at Capel St Mary last night, Tuesday 13th May.
Emergency services were called to the southbound carriageway of the A12 at Capel at 9.45pm by members of the public. A body was discovered in the carriageway, it is believed to be that of a female. A post mortem examination will be carried out later today. A car was also recovered from the scene for examination.
The A12 was closed southbound from the Copdock Interchange to East Bergholt until 5am this morning – a layby on the southbound carriageway at Capel St Mary remains closed.
Police want to speak to anyone who was travelling on the A12 in the Capel area before 9.45pm last night, or anyone with any information about this incident. Calls should be made to Suffolk Police on 01473 613500.
