Robbery Lowestoft

Category: Suffolk Constabulary

Lowestoft Police are issuing an Efit of a man they wish to trace in connection with a robbery at a bookmakers in the town earlier this month.

An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from Tote Sport in Raglan Street around 7.45pm – 7.50pm on Tuesday 5 August.

A man was working in the shop when two men walked in and one engaged him in conversation. The member of staff then got on with his work but heard a loud bang and was assaulted by the man he had been talking to. The man then took a quantity of cash from the safe and both men left.

The shop worker sustained a cut to his elbow and a cut to his temple and was left shocked by the incident. He was treated by ambulance personnel at the scene. No weapons were seen.

Police are now issuing an Efit image of one of the offenders in a bid to trace him. He is described as white with a tanned complexion, in his late 20s to 30s, 5ft 10ins - 5ft 11ins tall, of medium build, with short dark hair, and was wearing a dark coloured jumper and light blue faded jeans. He spoke with what appeared to be a Geordie accent.

The other man was white, of similar age, slightly taller around 6ft – 6ft 1in tall, of thin build, with short cropped hair at the back, and was wearing a racing green coloured bomber-style jacket, a dark coloured T-shirt underneath and a baseball cap. He also had a tattoo on his neck.

Police need to trace both men and are asking ‘do you recognise the offender from the Efit?’

Anyone with information is asked to call Lowestoft CID on 01986 835300 or Crimestoppers, anonymously if required, on 0800 555 111.
