Two Colneis Peninsula Safer Neighbourhood Team Police Community Support Officers will be doing their bit to help keep the county tidy on Saturday 20 September by joining The Big Tidy Up.

And they are encouraging you to come along and take part too!

The PCSOs are already involved in trying to make their communities safer but now aim to make them tidier too in a bid to further enhance the environment for local people.

The Big Tidy Up is a national campaign from Keep Britain Tidy who are aiming to organise the country’s biggest ever litter tidy-up during September. Local groups are being urged to sign up and PCSOs Liz Lake and Amy Clarke have risen to the challenge.

Now they need your support to ensure lots of people turn up on the day to help out. There will be three opportunities at different times that day to join teams setting out on the litter pick, with the first gathering at 9am on Saturday 20 at Nacton foreshore car park.

The second will start from Levington Creek car park at 10.30am and the third will meet at 12noon at the entrance to Trimley foreshore – so even if you usually enjoy a Saturday morning lie-in you can still take part!

The aim is to start at Nacton and work all the way down to Trimley, clearing litter as you go.
