Building work at County Library, Ipswich
Building work at County Library, Ipswich
The County Library on Northgate Street in Ipswich is currently undergoing building work. From 13 October for four weeks, contractors are replacing light fittings in the library.
The new lighting will provide a much more efficient coverage of the library and will reduce costs within two years of installation. During this time some areas may have to be closed to the public for safety reasons while this work is carried out. At certain times this will include public access computers.
From 10 November, the Arts Library on the second floor of the building will be closed to the public for 10 days.
Because of the high ceiling in the Arts Library, a scaffold tower needs to be used to carry out this work. Staff will have limited access to lending stock. The music and drama service will operate but there will probably be some delays in providing stock that has not been pre-ordered.
We will do our best to offer as full a service as possible under the circumstances but apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.
