Skeletal remains that are believed to be the body of a 73-year-old man who went missing from his home in Woodbridge on Thursday 5 June 2008 have been found in woodland in the town.

The body was found by a member of the public in Porters Wood yesterday afternoon, Sunday 1 March.

The body is believed to be that of Anthony Smith who was last seen in Beech Way, Woodbridge, around 4.45pm on that Thursday.

Formal identification is expected to be carried out in the next few days and an inquest will be held in due course.
